OCGS is Raising Money Using eBay

OCGS eBay Account

Through the generosity of our members, used books and publications are often donated to OCGS. Our librarian, Joanne Steckling, reviews the donations and places many in our library collection. Although all of the donated items have value to certain genealogical researchers, some items duplicate those already held in our collection, and some are simply not appropriate for our library collection mission. For a number of years we have displayed these items on the sales table at our meeting and accepted donations in exchange for them. Activity in this area has slowed considerably, and some of the books are simply not of interest to those who attend our meetings.

In order to help the Society and place these books and periodicals in the hands of researchers who will benefit, we have opened an eBay account. Pam Warren has weighed and photographed the items and determined shipping costs.  Maureen Elliott will be listing them for sale on eBay, and Pam will ship those which are sold. Proceeds from the sales will be placed in the general fund.

eBay Giving Works

If you are an eBay seller you can help OCGS by donating a all or portion of the proceeds from your sales to OCGS. We have registered on eBay Giving Works. You can find our page at: http://givingworks.ebay.com/charity-auctions/charity/oakland-county-genealogical-society/68237/.

Thanks to all those who have donated items to OCGS!
