On Saturday, January 12, 2013 the Oakland County Genealogical Society, in conjunction with the Detroit Society for Genealogical Research, is pleased to present a special program titled “Genealogical Resources at the Allen County Public Library.” John Beatty, a 28-year veteran of the ACPL and author of sixteen books, describes the genealogical resources available at the Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. This is the 2nd largest genealogical library in the United States. Please join us for this interesting and informative meeting.
The meeting will begin at 2:00pm at Christ Church Cranbrook, 470 Church St. in Bloomfield Hills (from Woodward, take Lone Pine Rd. west to the Church). The church will be open at 1:30pm, so plan to arrive early to enjoy refreshments, browsing, and networking at this OCGS/DSGR joint Saturday meeting. The public is invited, and there is no charge.
At this meeting, you will learn more about the resources available at the Library, and you will also have the opportunity to sign up for a 1-day DSGR bus trip for research at the Allen County Public Library scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2013. Go to www.dsgr.org for more information or to obtain a registration form for the bus trip.
