Oakland County Genealogical Society Message - addition to the 1890 census substitute project Great news, our volunteers have completed the indexing of the 1884, 1889, and 1893 tax assessment rolls for Independence Township, Oakland County Michigan. Thelist is posted on our website under the heading Free Genealogical Data > 1890 Census Substitute Project for Oakland County. Oakland County Genealogical Society Message It has come to our attention that at least some of the Quarterlies which were mailed this week were stapled together incorrectly. We are working with the printer on corrective action, including prevention of future occurrences. It is possible to removed the staples and re-staple the cover in the correct orientation. Oakland County Genealogical Society Message - Help indexing for the 1890 Census Substitute Project We have great news, Independence Township has allowed the Society to have three years of their tax assesment records, 1884, 1889, and 1893, imaged to include in our 1890 census substitute project. The imaging is complete and we are ready to index the names.
